We require an experienced hands-on retail assistant to start as soon as possible.

Previous experience in a pet shop is not essential though this would be highly regarded.


Key responsibilities

  • To assist Management to provide high-level customer service
  • Assist in daily retail operations.
  • Undertake retail operations including sales, stock control and displays.
  • Greet and attend to customers to Pet Stop
  • Ensure all telephone queries are answered in a prompt and friendly manner
  • Maintaining aquariums, birds, small animals enclosures.


Experience in:

  • a retail environment
  • the use of a point of sale or retail system
  • customer service skills
  • merchandise and stock control
  • computer operation especially with Windows-based PC programs
  • experience in animal keeping and well being


Knowledge of:

  • Livestock and Birds
  • Household Pets
  • Retail and customer service


Personal Requirements

  • flexibility and availability to work outside normal hours
  • ability to undertake physically demanding duties
  • Verbal skills
  • Motivation to serve
  • Presentation
  • Reliability, motivation, ability to work in a team or individually is essential, as is being fit and healthy for work. If you can put a tick beside all of the above then you could be just the person we are looking for.

Experience based. At least Mini Wage. Hourly rate from Min Wage to $25.00.
